The countdown is on—Germany’s asparagus season traditionally ends on June 24. Until then, it’s time to enjoy this delicate vegetable while it’s still fresh. Whether white, green, or purple, each variety has its own character and offers surprisingly versatile culinary possibilities. Conveniently, asparagus can also be easily and quickly prepared in an air fryer, delivering full flavor with minimal effort.
Anyone who knows me knows: Quick and easy is my motto when cooking. Especially after a long workday, there’s often not enough energy to stand at the stove and cook something elaborate. That’s where the air fryer comes in—it makes it possible. Just prepare the ingredients, put everything in the air fryer, press a button—and a few minutes later, a delicious dish is on the table. Asparagus is particularly well-suited for quick preparation in the air fryer: no mushy vegetables, no constant stirring or turning—just place it in, turn it on, and enjoy. Here are my three favorite recipes that could even convince die-hard asparagus skeptics—simple, quick, and really tasty.
Overview
Why Asparagus Is So Healthy
Due to its high water content, asparagus is one of the particularly low-calorie vegetables, with only 18 calories per 100 grams. Yet, it’s packed with valuable nutrients—magnesium, potassium, calcium, and vitamins B1, B2, and folic acid make it a true supplier of important ingredients.1
In terms of health safety, asparagus also scores very well: According to the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety, it is one of the least contaminated vegetables with residues.2
Green Asparagus with Parmesan Crust
When it needs to be quick but still look a bit “wow,” I like to go for this combination. Green asparagus gets the perfect texture in the air fryer—lightly roasted but with a crunch. And the crispy Parmesan crust? It makes the whole thing a real highlight that you can serve to guests.
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
– 500 g green asparagus
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– Salt, pepper
– 2 to 3 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan
Preparation:
Wash the asparagus and trim the woody ends. Marinate with olive oil, salt, and pepper and place in the air fryer. Cook at 180°C for about 8 to 10 minutes. Shortly before the end, sprinkle the Parmesan over it and bake for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
Warm Asparagus Potato Salad with Lemon Yogurt Dressing
I love dishes that not only taste good but also fill you up without being heavy. This lukewarm salad is my personal spring favorite—it combines crunchy asparagus with spicy potatoes and a fresh, lemony yogurt dressing. Perfect as a light dinner or meal prep for the office.
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
– 4 pre-cooked potatoes
– 250 g green asparagus
– 1 clove of garlic
– 1 organic lemon
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– Salt, chili flakes
For the dressing:
– 3 tbsp yogurt
– 1 tsp lemon juice
– 1 small clove of garlic (finely chopped)
– Pepper, fresh parsley
Preparation:
Lightly mash the pre-cooked potatoes, season with salt and chili flakes, and bake in the air fryer at 180°C for about 15 minutes. Cook the asparagus together with garlic and lemon slices for about 10 minutes. Serve everything with the yogurt dressing and serve warm.

Roasted Asparagus with Chickpeas and Lemon Dip
Sometimes you need just the right mix of crispy, light, and spicy—and this recipe hits the mark for me. The chickpeas become wonderfully crunchy in the air fryer, the asparagus stays nice and firm, and the fresh lemon dip brings the necessary freshness. Ideal for days when you want to eat healthily without spending hours in the kitchen.
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
– 200 g green asparagus
– 1 small can of chickpeas (rinsed, well-drained)
– 1 tsp olive oil
– ½ tsp paprika powder
– Salt, pepper, optionally some cumin
For the dip:
– 2 tbsp yogurt (plant-based possible)
– 1 tsp lemon juice
– Some lemon zest
– Pinch of salt
Preparation:
Cut the asparagus into pieces, and pat the chickpeas dry with paper towels. Mix both with oil and spices, then roast in the air fryer at 190°C for about 12 to 15 minutes—turning once or shaking the basket. Mix the lemon dip and serve everything warm.
