Fitness trackers are considered useful tools for better monitoring physical activity, recovery, and health metrics. However, the selection is vast. There are countless brands and models offering various features and quality. Which ones are truly worth it? A major fitness tracker test has now revealed the answers.
In the current lab test by “BILD,” 15 models were examined–from entry-level models to feature-rich professionals. The evaluation included measurement accuracy, user-friendliness, and everyday usability of the devices. Three products stood out in the fitness tracker test.
Overview
Winner is Fitbit Charge 6: precise measurement with a wide range of functions
Fitbit Charge 6 achieved the best overall score in the test. The device impressed with very accurate heart rate measurement, even during movement. Additionally, the tracker automatically detects sports activities, records routes via GPS, and offers solid sleep analysis. An integrated ECG allows for an initial assessment of possible heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation. Other features like Google Maps, YouTube Music, and a sleep phase alarm clock complete the package. A Google account is required for use.

Second place for Huawei Watch Fit 3: good features with strong performance
The Huawei Watch Fit 3 takes second place. It scores with a user-friendly interface, an easy-to-read display, and precise heart rate measurement. The extensive sports modes and reliable sleep monitoring make it a solid choice. In terms of ease of use and battery life, the model proves particularly suitable for everyday use in the test.
Third place for Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: compact tracker with solid performance
The third place goes to the Galaxy Fit 3 from Samsung. The fitness tracker offers a decent basic package, including a pedometer, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking. Although the range of functions is somewhat less compared to the top models, the offering is sufficient for users with basic needs. The simple operation and sleek design are positively highlighted in the test.
The test in detail
All tested fitness trackers underwent a standardized testing procedure. The accuracy of heart rate measurement was compared with a medical chest strap. Additionally, comfort, display quality, battery life, and workmanship were examined. Everyday usability also played a role–such as in the 24-hour endurance test and the evaluation of operation and additional functions.
