Kim Kardashian pays attention to her diet, takes plenty of supplements, and strengthens her body with intense workouts. Yet, over the years, she has also faced health issues, including psoriasis and even a brain aneurysm. Now, she has revealed a diagnosis that apparently causes her great concern–the possibility of developing esophageal cancer like her father. What the 45-year-old has and whether her fear is justified can be found at FITBOOK.
Just before the start of the 8th season of “The Kardashians,” a trailer provided insight into the topics and emotional moments fans can expect. Among them were some disturbing scenes showing Kim Kardashian in the hospital. She appears worried and exhausted, seemingly having undergone an examination or even a procedure. “I have something called esophagitis,” the 45-year-old explains in the clip. Elsewhere, a voiceover is heard: “Isn’t that what your father died of?” And mother Kris Jenner, 70, says, “I want to cry.” What’s going on?
Kim Kardashian Suffers from Esophagitis
It is clear: Kim Kardashian has been diagnosed with esophagitis. However, whether she suffered from an acute form and has since recovered is not clear. There is also a chronic form of the inflammation, which is most often associated in research with an increased risk of esophageal cancer. Studies paint an unclear picture of how significant the risk increase actually is. What is considered critical: In 40 percent of esophagitis cases, the condition is due to acid reflux (increased reflux of stomach and bile acids from the stomach). This is considered a confirmed risk factor for esophageal cancer.

Kim Kardashian’s Father Died of Esophageal Cancer
The trailer for the reality series draws a connection between Kim Kardashian’s diagnosis and her father’s death. It is therefore suspected that the 45-year-old has a chronic esophagitis and is aware that this could be associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer.
The concern is certainly fueled by the early loss of her father. Robert Kardashian died in 2003 at the age of 59 from esophageal cancer. It is only understandable that Kim Kardashian is now worried that she might face a similar fate.
Unlike breast cancer, for example, esophageal cancer is not considered a hereditary cancer. However, a family history of cancer is always a reason for early prevention and regular screenings.
