“I’m completely exhausted!” With these words, host Chris Wackert concluded Session 3 of the FITBOOK Move Jam 2021. Why? Because for the first time, he not only hosted the show but also participated in the upper body workout led by Crossfit athlete Shagel Butt. Things were a bit more relaxed during the yoga flow with Roxi Strasser, who joined from Lake Constance.
Session 3 of the FITBOOK Move Jam was a kind of special edition: First, the workouts started at 7 p.m.–a plus for those who like to sleep in on weekends and aren’t ready for morning sessions; second, the trainer for Workout 1 wasn’t in the studio at the Berlin Heeresbäckerei but joined from a stunning location in southern Germany. Did you miss it all? Then just watch the video of the entire session (above).
Yoga Flow with Fitness Influencer Roxi Strasser
Host Chris Wackert welcomed trainer Roxi Strasser against the backdrop of Lake Constance. Roxi had already been a trainer at the FITBOOK Move Jam in 2019 and 2020 and this time prepared a 40-minute yoga flow session. Thanks to her positive energy, it was a very relaxed start to Session 3. By the way, Roxi can also be quite tough–but only when it comes to ice bathing! In a conversation with Chris Wackert, she explained what fascinates her about it and why it benefits her so much. You can learn more in the video above.
Expert Talk with Maren Naue on Nutrition
After the first workout, Maren Naue, an online coach for fitness and nutrition, answered reader questions in the expert talk. She cites one key reason why many people fail in their weight loss efforts: “Many take on too much at once and overwhelm themselves.” Instead, she suggests making a few changes gradually and being patient. Setting small goals can also reduce the pressure around nutrition. For example, it’s hardly sensible to completely change your diet overnight. It’s better to make small adjustments step by step, such as initially cutting out snacking. She also provided important tips for athletes who want to tailor their diet to muscle building and maintenance.
FITBOOK reader Doro from Düsseldorf submitted a video question about what to consider when taking dietary supplements. Shagel Butt, headliner of the FITBOOK Move Jam and trainer of the second workout, noted in the studio that protein powders and the like play little role in his life as a Crossfit pro: “I just love eating too much.” Instead of a protein shake after training, he prefers to eat something suitable.

“Upper Body” Workout with Crossfit Star Shagel Butt
Shagel Butt certainly has plenty of power thanks to the right nutrition. What he planned for his 40-minute upper body workout called “Upper Body Bämsen” will challenge even seasoned fitness enthusiasts. The focus was on shoulders, chest, back, and core. Host Chris took on the challenge and, for the first time, participated in a workout at the FITBOOK Move Jam–live in the studio. You can see how he and the other participants–dancer Jolanda, yoga teacher Kimi, and sports scientist José–fared in the video.
So, what are you waiting for? Just press “Play” above and join in! And don’t forget: Next Saturday continues with the grand finale of the FITBOOK Move Jam 2021!
An important note: Please participate as much as your fitness level allows. It’s good to push your limits when your muscles burn, but don’t overdo it. It’s no shame to take a short break to regain strength. If you feel dizzy or nauseous, stop the workout immediately. If symptoms persist, please consult your doctor.
