Alina Bock
Alina Bock holds a degree in fitness economics and became self-employed as a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and group fitness instructor in and around Hamburg after completing her dual studies — with an A-level fitness trainer license in hand. Through numerous training courses, she has specialized in areas such as pregnancy, sports nutrition, body shaping, weight management, and rehabilitative training. Since June 2024, she has been working as a freelance writer for FITBOOK.
Beke Enderstein, Diplom-Ökotrophologin
Beke Enderstein holds a degree in ecotrophology and focuses in her work on dietetics, fasting and intermittent fasting, as well as superfoods. She combines nutritional science with alternative medicine approaches. Her work also includes food styling and recipe development — for example, creating children's recipes for the Sarah Wiener Foundation. Personally, Beke Enderstein is interested in nutritional psychology and has previously supported girls with eating disorders. On her food blog and LinkedIn, the nutritionist regularly publishes her own vegetarian and vegan recipes, which are both healthy and sustainable.
Doris Tromballa
Doris Tromballa has been working as a science journalist for over 20 years, focusing on nutrition. A YouTube video about the effects of sugar fascinated her so much that she decided to go back to university alongside her job. Five years later, she earned her master’s degree in nutritional therapy. But it’s not just digging through study results and gathering insights from world-class experts that excites her—she also loves trying out nutrition trends herself: from ketogenic to glocal, Icelandic to probiotic. Her favorite kind of sightseeing while traveling? (Super)markets. And when she’s not experimenting with something new from the wondrous world of food, she’s either kicking it at kickboxing or playing the piano.
Friederike Ostermeyer
Friederike Ostermeyer is a freelance writer for FITBOOK, primarily covering topics such as nutrition, healthy living, and psychology. With great enthusiasm, she delves into the latest studies, other current scientific publications, or interviews insightful experts. She broadens the rest of her horizons — like so many others—preferably through travel.
Isa Kabakci
Isa Kabakci was born in 1993, is originally from Swabia and has lived in Berlin for several years. During and after studying anthropology and Portuguese in Mainz, he completed several internships, jobs as a working student and a traineeship in editorial departments at various media companies. He has been working as an editor at BOOK family since 2022 and is responsible for product guides and comparisons.
Julia Freiberger
Julia Freiberger has been with FITBOOK since 2023, writing about nutrition, fitness, and health. Her studies in nutritional science provide her with a wealth of (scientific) input for her work. Books and writing are her passion: her own book is currently in the publication process. Julia is also no stranger to physical activity: at a young age, she discovered her enthusiasm for movement and completed ten years of training as a dancer and actress at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin. Her spare time is filled with travels with friends, duties as an aunt, sports, university stress, and a little parrot that demands a lot of attention.
Julia Kuntz
Julia Kuntz discovered her passion for writing at an early age, bringing her imagination to life through stories. Today, she follows her insatiable curiosity and deep love for writing as a freelance editor for us. Her focus lies on topics related to well-being and women’s health. With passion and a keen sense for trends and relevance, she writes well-researched articles supported by expert knowledge. When she’s not crafting engaging texts for us, you’ll find her in her reading nook — always searching for fresh inspiration for her next pieces.
Laura Pomer
Laura Pomer is a long-time freelance contributor to the BOOKs family. She started in 2013 at STYLBOOK and has since also been working with TRAVELBOOK and TECHBOOK— and of course, with FITBOOK. Her friends sometimes chuckle at that, as Laura isn’t exactly a fitness enthusiast. A thorough cleaning session can still leave her with sore muscles days later. However, her theoretical understanding of health and fitness is all the more profound — thanks to countless hours of research, expert interviews, and in-depth engagement with scientific studies.
Martin Lewicki
Martin Lewicki has been working in print and online media across Germany since the early 2000s. Since 2015, he has been a freelance writer, including for Axel Springer Verlag. He regularly contributes to WELT, TECHBOOK, and FITBOOK. His areas of expertise include health, nutrition, and fitness. Driven by curiosity and a love for travel, he frequently undertakes personal experiments — such as practicing Muay Thai in Thailand, taking a yoga course in an Indian ashram, or attending a silent retreat at a meditation center.
Melanie Hoffmann, Editor-in-Chief
Melanie Hoffmann has been Editor-in-Chief of FITBOOK since January 2024. She has been with Axel Springer since 2021 and writes for FITBOOK about topics related to health, fitness, and nutrition. She is a certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) and holds a license in sports nutrition and supplementation. Currently, she is also training to become a certified sleep coach. When she’s not diving into new medical studies for FITBOOK or sharing her personal experiences with the keto diet or new workout routines with readers, she loves going out dancing with friends or trying out new restaurants. Fitness also plays a big role in her personal life, as sport has always been an important part of her daily routine. At the moment, she’s particularly passionate about yoga and strength-endurance training. And something that absolutely cannot be missing from her life: traveling to faraway places—preferably somewhere warm and by the sea.
Nina Ponath
Nina Ponath is a freelance journalist, certified yoga instructor, and author of four published books. In addition to her profession, she is pursuing a PhD in philosophy and is constantly on the move when not writing an article — whether swimming, running, practicing yoga, or walking her dog.
Nuno Alves
Editor-in-Chief
Nuno Alves is Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of BILD’s BOOK family of brands, which includes FITBOOK, TRAVELBOOK, STYLEBOOK, TECHBOOK, myHOMEBOOK, and PETBOOK. BILD is Germany’s largest media outlet and part of Axel Springer, the international publishing group that also owns Politico, Business Insider, and Morning Brew. Nuno studied communication science at the German University of Hohenheim. He began his journalism career at Hubert Burda Media—one of Germany’s largest publishing houses—where he helped launch BUNTE.de, the digital platform of the country’s top celebrity magazine. He later joined BILD, first leading the online entertainment desk and eventually serving as chief text editor. He went on to launch TRAVELBOOK, now Germany’s largest online travel magazine. At FITBOOK, Nuno focuses on health, nutrition, fitness, and longevity—core topics that he not only covers professionally but also pursues passionately in his personal life. When it comes to training, Nuno embraces variety: he combines strength workouts, running, and cycling with Capoeira, the Brazilian martial art he began practicing after a trip to Brazil in 2003. In 2010, he earned his graduation rank in Abadá-Capoeira, the world’s largest Capoeira organization. He holds professional certifications as a fitness and health coach and as a nutritionist from the German IST Institute, as well as a Level 1 & 2 Nutrition Coach certification from the Clean Health Institute (Biolayne Certification).
Sophie Brünke
Sophie Brünke has been an editor at FITBOOK since June 2023. Growing up on a family farm, she became passionate about nutrition and health at an early age. She first studied ecotrophology, a combination of nutrition and food science, and then completed her master's degree in human nutrition at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. She is particularly familiar with vegan nutrition thanks to her master's thesis on milk and meat substitutes. That's why she initially worked as a social media manager for vegan brands in Berlin before joining the FITBOOK team. Sport is also her passion: from hip hop to dancehall to ballet, Sophie is enthusiastic about many dance styles. To get out of her comfort zone, she is also a member of a Berlin boxing club.
